B'DAY DINNER

Just a lil update..
It was my b'day sometime ago, and a friend treated me to this posh restaurant in Kensington area called - L'Etranger. It's a French & Japanese Cuisine, cos I haven't tried french food before and tbh I quite liked it. (:

We had;
CALAMARS CROUSTILLANTS AU PIMENT ET OIGNON CEBETTE
GRAZPACHO DE BETTERAVE ET CROUTONS AU THYME
CONFIT LAMB SHOULDER WITH WHITE ONION PUREE AND TOMATO SAUCE
AUBERGINE GRILLEE AU MISO, PONZU ET CAVIAR D'AUBERGINE
BANAFFEE PIE WITH POCAHED KUMKAT COMPOTE & TOFFEE SAUCE
CHOCOLATE FONDANT WITH GREEN TEA ICE CREAM
B'DAY PRESENT - [RIGHT] ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
I had a good night and really appreciate what she has done for me. But boii, we had so much alcohol on the night and it was a weekday. (Lol)
I do like the food, the atmosphere in the restaurant was good too. But gonna be honest with myself that I probably can't afford to go back there and have a casual dinner. Perhaps will have a visit on special occasions.

K-ON!

K-on! Is one of my favourite anime - slice of life, comedy, music. One of the girl reminds me of myself. She's a very very shy girl but when you get to know her she's a bit of a character. (Lol)
I decided to draw it just cos its one of my hobby, and also to improve my own skills - I always find it hard to draw different angles of face or the body positions. I've practice and practice and can never get it right. That's why I prefer to do chibi drawings, because it doesn't have to be perfect xD

SEN NIN.

This place was found by a friend - she saw it on a website called ''Living Social'' where you get decent deals for restaurants, holidays etc. It was in Camden around 5-10mins walk from the station.
We went and tried it out today.

We had;
[SUN RISE]

[MISO SOUP]
[STARTER; SALMON ROLL, CHICKEN DUMPLINGS & VEGETABLE SPRING ROLLS]

[SCOTTISH SALMON IN TERIYAKI SAUCE SERVED WITH STEAMED RICE]
[STEAK WITH MUSHROOMS]
[OUR CHEF]
[CHEESECAKE AND CHOC ICE CREAM]

All above was a set meal that originally worth £48.95pp but we bought it for £20pp (y) The food was nice but I personally wouldn't pay the full price for this set meal because I don't think its worth it.
Another thing I quite like was that the chef give customers a little game to play which was entertaining and quite fun and a different experience too.
In the end we had to pay service charge - which I don't think the waiters deserve it because their services wasn't that great but I'll give credit for the chefs for their hard work! (:

KIMCHEE + MADD

Yesterday I went out for dinner with some colleagues -  someone suggested to go Kimchee in High Holborn. I didn't mind because I never tried before.
The restaurant was quite big and it was already busy by the time we got there [was around 6pm].
We ordered;

[From the left; BORA BLUE, SOJU RED, BERRY BERRY NICE]
[TOFU KIMCHEE]
[RAW BEEF BIBIMBAP]
[BULGOGI served with LETTUCE]
[KIMCHEE PANCAKE]
[CALPICO MAKGEOLLI]
[ROASTED GREEN TEA ICE CREAM]
[BLACK SESAME ICE CREAM]

Overall I think the food was alright, but I'd go back to try more because they had quite alot choices~

After dinner, because a friend had to leave &we didn't want to go home too early so we decided to go to this Mango place where they do Mango desserts & cupcakes & cocktails etc. They have board games there for you to play too which I think it's quite a good idea :D
The cashier told us if we order 4 cocktails we get 2 free cupcakes - but at that time we were still full and 2 cocktails each was abit too much~ :/
So we just had;
[MANGOPPLE]
I didn't really like this - it was kinda tasteless.
[MANGO MAJITO]
This was quite nice but again couldn't taste any mango.
There's this dessert there I like called Mango Sago Bowl which is HUGE but really nice.

Dumplings' Legend.

So not long ago; we were craving on dim sum so went to ChinaTown to get some. I personally never paid for dim sum cos its kinda expensive for me. Anyway, we looked around and found a quite reasonable price for dim sum.

Before we went in we saw a friend who just ate from there; and she warned us that their services are REALLY bad but the food isn't bad. So we were prepared.

We got the table next to the window but its like on the OTHER side of the restaurant where noone would see us if we want to get their attention.
Literally, we waited at least 15- 20 to get served. ALL the staff looked annoyed & moody & rude. [We were aware of that though]

Anyway, in the beginning we made an agreement NOT to order too much because we're not that rich. But somehow we ended up ordering 9 dishes. (>< `)

steamed vegetarian dumplings £2.30
Crystal prawn dumplings £2.50
cheung-fun with crispy rolls and spring onion £2.80
prawn cheung-fun with celery £3.30

CABANA.

Gonna keep it short ~
Just blah, we went to Westfield at Stratford to eat [At like 10pm] because the train got delayed&it was just not working properly when it clearly said ''good service'' on central line. (T..T *)

Anyway, pretty much most restaurants were packed; so we went to try something different - CABANA, a Brazilian Restaurant.
Oh one more thing, I already ate beforehand&yet I was having my second dinner within 3hrs... (.___. ') If I remember, I think all they did was street food so we ordered few bits&pieces to share & I wasn't hungry so it was alright for us to share :3

We had;

THE DREAM TEAM & TOUCAN TEA PUNCH & JARZINHO
SOME DIPS
CRUNCHY RICE BOLINHOS
HAND CUT FRIES
[Was gonna have sweet potato fries but it was so popular that they were sold out]
BEIRUT PORTOBELLO
CHIMICHURRI PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS
SPICY MALAGUETA LOBSTER TAIL
I'd like to thanks to the person who paid for my meal on the sly ♥
I quite like the food there & the cocktails were really nice; just service was a little :/ apart from one of them were really polite & friendly~ But would definitely go back! ^^

Tohbang.

Finally we had another hair cut/dyed.
There were a slyly problem but they allowed it.
I'm quite happy with my hair colour & hair cut; I also had it curled since ppl always tried to curl my hair but it just never seem to work. Lol. I like it :3

Anyway, after we got our hair done. We were craving Korean food so I suggested to try something different I heard that there's this Korean restaurant my manager owns or something in Holborn if we go there; we get some kinda discount. [Lool but I'm not quite sure] So we ended up searching for Korean restaurants around Holborn. We found one which was quite high rated with decent price - Tohbang.

When we walked in, the restaurant seemed quite empty but after we found out its because they had tables reserved. So we had to sit at the counter which I don't really like because there isn't much personal space but I can understand.

It took us quite a while to decide what to have [as usual] (/__\; )
We had;

Kirin Beer + 7UP [sly shandy]

Kimchi Jeon
[Kimchi pancake]
 Godung-o Gui
[Grilled salted Mackerel]
Tofu Gangjung
[Deep fried tofu with sweet chilli sauce]

I think I'd like to go back again, to be seated on a regular table & having our own space. Also because the waitress were really polite&stuff~

Giraffe & Pinkberry.

Went to Stratford Westfield, wasn't planned to buy anything; but someone ended up buying shit loads. T___T

Anyway, so we went to try Giraffe Restaurant ~
Took us FOREVER to decide what to have [as usual], and the waitress seemed like she was rushing us for some reason :/
We had;
> Hippy Hippy Shake (Mango, Pomegranate Juice, Banana, Passion Fruit, Pineapple)
> Sunrise (Orange, Banana & Strawberry)

> Leg of Lamb Steak

> Simple Grilled Salmon

Then we went to Pinkberry for dessert because we weren't full [Lol] xD
Ordered one medium Original with personalised toppings :3 & it was SEXY (y)
We had; Mango, Strawberries, Kiwi, Nuts, Biscuit & Blueberries.
[The strawberries were abit weird though..]

Will definitely try a different one next time from Pinkberry :3

Dong San.

After an afternoon tea we were suppose to go home & sleep forever; but ended up walking around & ended up eating at a Korean restaurant.
But before that we wanted to try the opened ''recently'' street food shop in China Town. It was quite cheap but we only bought one because we were gonna have dinner. It was fried bean curd skewer - was REALLY hot & SPICY. (T^T ) We really didn't like it at first but it tasted alright after xD

Anyway, we went to this new Korean Restaurant called DONG SAN near Leceister Square.
We ordered;
KIMCHI PANCAKE <3

KIMCHI

SPICY CHICKEN
[Suppose to be little spicy but instead VERY spicy]

PRAWN TEMPURA

BEEF BIBIMBAP

MILD COD SOUP
[Allow, it was too spicy even though it suppose to be ''mild''; we SHARED it & still took us 10hrs to finish it]

My sad little sly bowl for the soup.

100 glasses of tap water cos we need it so much to be able to finish the MILD, SPICY cod soup & the spicy chicken.

Had too much spicy-ness yesterday made my throat sore. But I actually enjoyed the day even though it was with THREE turks; I couldn't understand anything half the day because they were bursting turkish~ [I did learn new words though xD]
